Employee Commitment in Times of Change:
Assessing the Importance of Attitudes Toward

Parameters associated with organizational change have been shown to act as mediators of several specific difference variable/workrelated outcome interactions. This study examines three potential antecedents of 258 police officers' attitudes toward organizational transform (ATOC), and whether ATOC mediates the relationships between these antecedents and affective organizational commitment (AOC). During data collection, the officers' police section was reorganization, rearrangement, reshuffling its company design. Structural equation building indicates the expansion need strength/AOC relationship can be fully mediated, whereas the focus of control/AOC and internal work motivation/AOC relationships will be partially mediated by ATOC. Implications and directions for future research are talked about. For example , though we have gained several insight into how organizational alter affects organizational commitment, we are still lacking in information with regards to how these types of variables might function jointly (Fedor, Caldwell, & Herold, 2006). Yet , because organizational change serves as an antecedent of organizational commitment, and commitment is very important to company functioning, even more research in this field is warranted (Coleman, Irving, & Cooper, 1999). Of great importance is the fact organizational alter strains not simply the organization overall but likewise individual staff within the corporation (Vakola & Nikolaou, 2005). In fact , in the event that an organization is to successfully put into action change, an alteration strategy should be developed that takes the employees' internal processes into account. A failure to take such techniques into account will likely result in the alter initiative faltering (Deloitte & Touche, 2005).
